  • BLS for Healthcare Providers: Teaches the skills of CPR for victims of all ages (including ventilation with a barrier device, a bag-mask device, and oxygen), use of an AED on adults and and children, and relief of FBAO in responsive and non-responsive victims.  The course is designed for healthcare providers who care for patients in a wide variety of settings, both in and out of hospital.  This course is typically for Healthcare providers, such as physicians, nurses, paramedics, EMTs, respiratory therapists, physical and occupational therapists, physician assistants, residents, fellows, or medical or nursing students, aides, medical or nursing assistants, lifeguards, and other allied health personnel.  An original certification course is typically between 6 and 8 hours long.

  • Heartsaver AED & Heartsaver CPR: Teaches the basic techniques of adult CPR and use of an AED.  Pediatric CPR may be taught if students live or work in a setting where children are present.  Students also learn to use barrier devices in CPR and give first aid for choking in the responsive victim.  The course teaches how to recognize the signs of 3 major emergencies: heart attack, stroke and FBAO.  Heartsaver CPR includes only CPR FBAO, and emergency recognition.  This course is typically for all lay responders with a duty to respond, such as airline personnel, security guards, employees in the workplace, family members of patients at high risk for sudden cardiac death, and other lay rescuers who may need to respond to a
cardiac emergency.  An original certification course is typically between 3 and 6 hours long depending on which modules are taught.

  • Heartsaver First Aid: The Heartsaver First Aid Course teaches rescuers to effectively recognize and treat adult emergencies in the critical first minutes until emergency medical services personnel arrive.  The course also provides a complete health and safety training solution for first aid, adult CPR, and AED.  Optional modules include child CPR and AED and infant CPR.  This course is typically for persons assigned to
respond to emergencies in the workplace or community as well as those who want to learn first aid, CPR, and AED skills.  Some rescuers are required to take this course as part of their employers efforts to comply with OSHA regulations, ie, corporate employees, security guards, airline personnel, lifeguards, and other individuals who want or need first aid training.  An original certification course is typically between 3 and 7 hours depending on which modules are taught.

  • CPR for Family & Friends: A modular course that teaches lay rescuers skills in CPR and relief of FBAO in the responsive victim.  The course presents information about the AHA adult Chain of Survival and signs of heart attack, cardiac arrest, stroke, and choking in adults; information on the AHA pediatric Chain of Survival, signs of choking in infants and children, prevention of the most common fatal pediatric injuries, and reduction in the risk of sudden infant death syndrome.  This course is typically for all lay rescuers, such as schoolchildren, family members of patients at risk for sudden cardiac death, and other laypersons who want to learn rescue skills for loved ones.  An original certification course is typically between 2 to 4.5 hours long depending on what modules are taught.
